4Kay Event Pros ("we", "us", "our") operates 4kayevents.com (the "Site") and a marketplace

that connects customers with local event vendors (the "Service"). This Privacy

Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we

share it with, and the rights you have. By using the Service you agree to this

Policy.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email, phone, password hash, role (customer, vendor, admin), and profile details you provide.
  • Quote and booking information: event type, date, location (city, ZIP), guest count, budget, and other event details you submit.
  • Vendor business information: business name, service area, photos, descriptions, pricing, certifications, and service agreements.
  • Payment information: when you pay or get paid, our payment processor (Stripe) collects card and bank details. We never store full card numbers; we receive limited identifiers, status, and amounts.
  • Communications: messages you exchange through the Site, email follow-ups, SMS notifications (if opted in), and our chat assistant.
  • Automatically collected: IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, referring URLs, and cookie identifiers (see our Cookie Policy).

SMS Notifications

By providing your phone number and opting in to SMS communications, you expressly consent to receive text messages from 4Kay Event Pros at the phone number you provided. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Service updates and notifications
  • Appointment reminders and confirmations
  • Project status updates

Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your engagement with our services. You may receive up to 10 messages per month.

Message and Data Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details on your messaging plan.

Opt-Out Instructions: You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by:

  • Replying "STOP" to any text message from us
  • Emailing us at admin@4kayevents.com
  • Calling us during business hours

Support: For SMS support, reply "HELP" to any message or contact us at admin@4kayevents.com.

### We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information — including phone numbers — to third parties. Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve the 4Kay Event Pros service.

2. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • create and operate your account;
  • match customers with vendors and route quote requests;
  • process payments, deposits, and payouts;
  • send transactional, service, and follow-up emails and SMS (if opted in);
  • detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or abuse;
  • improve the Service, debug issues, and run analytics;
  • comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models.

3. Sharing

We share personal information with:

  • Vendors and customers as needed to deliver the requested service (e.g. a customer's contact and event details are shared with vendors invited to quote).
  • Service providers acting on our behalf (hosting, email delivery, SMS delivery via Twilio, analytics, payments). They may only use data to provide the contracted service.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
  • Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Your rights (U.S. residents)

Depending on your state of residence (including California — CCPA/CPRA, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and others) you may have the right to:

  • request access to the personal information we hold about you;
  • request correction or deletion of your personal information;
  • request a portable copy of your information;
  • opt out of "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising — we do not sell or share for advertising;
  • limit the use of sensitive personal information;
  • not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To exercise any right, email admin@4kayevents.com from the address on your account, or use the Account → Privacy controls in your dashboard. We will respond within 45 days.

5. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can delete it.

6. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Booking, payment, and tax records are retained for at least seven (7) years.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including encrypted connections (TLS), encrypted storage, role-based access controls, and audit logging. No system is 100% secure; you use the Service at your own risk.

8. International users

The Service is operated from the United States. By using the Service you consent to processing of your information in the U.S., which may not provide the same protections as your home country.

9. Changes

We will post any changes to this Policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted, and signed-in users will be asked to re-acknowledge.
